The Very Basics of Meditation and Consciousness

Do you desire to cognize how to meditate? Or just understand the rudiments of meditation? Many people go interested in speculation because they desire to accomplish peace of mind, or just better and spread out their head and interior space in general. I fall into both of these classes and my speculation have brought consequences in both equally. Meditation have roots in many faiths throughout the world, with Buddhism having some of the most.

Buddha reached enlightenment through speculation and this is what others seek to achieve. To understand speculation you have got to understand consciousness. As Prince Albert Albert Einstein once said "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very relentless one". Things are "not as they seem" so to speak. The "everyday" ordinary world you undergo in your waking life is just 1 state of consciousness, but it is the one we are most familiar with. Dreaming is another state of consciousness that is very unique, and different than waking consciousness.

The neurotransmitter 5-hydroxytryptamine plays a big function in producing this reality. Scientists who have got modified and played with 5-hydroxytryptamine molecules establish that even tweaking the molecule to one atoms difference (adding a N grouping for example) made the molecule highly psychotropic (i.e. entheogenic, i.e. psychedelic.) Powerful mystical states of consciousness can be induced by slightly modifying serotonin. Dreaming is so odd for example, because our organic structure bring forths DMT (dimethyltryptamine) which is only a few atoms away from serotonin. Both molecules bind to the 5HT2A receptors which are the same receptors something like lysergic acid diethylamide would bind too.

Meditation is simply another tool to entree a different state of consciousness. It lets you to unclutter your mind, halt all thought, and just be in the moment. This is similar to psychedelic experiences, because they are all ways of screening "true reality" outside of our percept of reality. This have many benefits, especially in self-contemplation (thinking about your life and situation, function in the world, career, etc. anything at all), reducing stress, and achieving the elusive "happiness" and "peace of mind". Lets acquire on to the rudiments of how to actually travel about meditating.

1. Find a good space.

For some this may be your bedroom, living room, or any topographic point at all that you experience comfortable. Brand certain you make it at a clip or topographic point that you will have got no interruptions.

2. Get Comfortable

Some people like to sit down in the Indian lotus position, and remainder their weaponry on their legs. But you can sit down or put down in any place you are comfy in provided you don't fall asleep.

3. Focus on breathing

Inhale slowly through your nostrils, bringing O down into your stop and letting it expand. Feel the O flowing from your lungs into your bloodstream up into your encephalon and into all of your muscles.
